Mission
At the elementary school level, Science is a process where young children come to understand the natural world around them. Students engage in activities including observing, collecting, manipulating and analyzing data, as well as evaluating and interpreting results to better understand scientific concepts. Instruction is scaffolded in order to meet the varying needs of the students at different grade levels. My goal, as the Science Teacher, is to foster an environment where the students feel part of a community of learners. This goal is achieved by engaging students in hands-on activities, that allow our young scientists, to observe and explore natural phenomena. My mission is to instill a natural curiosity and excitement about science that the students will carry with them for a lifetime.
